Dean L. Headrick, 90, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls. He was born September 18, 1924 in Egan, SD to Oswald and Grace (Davis) Headrick. He received his education in Egan and then served in the Navy from 1943 – 1946. Dean married Mavis Theel on June 6, 1948 at Elkton, SD. They lived in Sioux Falls, SD and then moved to Brandon, SD in 1958. Dean worked as a semi-trailer mechanic at All-American Freight for 39 years, retiring in 1986. He worked at the Brandon Golf Course for 20 years. Dean was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls and the Valley Springs American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, reading, playing cards with friends and most importantly watching grandkids play tennis and spending time with his family.

Dean is survived by his wife Mavis, daughter Darci (Don) Hegg, Mitchell, son Rod (Jo), Omaha, NE, three grandchildren, one great-grandson and sister Marguerite Chamley, Flandreau. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bud and granddaughter Tiffany.

Memorial services will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 15, 2015 at George Boom Funeral Chapel in Brandon. Visitation from 5:00–7:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral chapel in Brandon.
