David L. Eich, 64, died Friday, October 16, 2009 at his sister's rural Flandreau home under hospice care. He was born May 5, 1945 at Madison, SD to Michael and Veronica (Hockhausen) Eich. He received his education at Gale Ridge Country School and attended Egan and Colman High Schools. David worked construction and was married to Flora Auch on December 22, 1967 at Yankton, SD. He worked as a mechanic in Yankton for 10 years before moving to Colorado. He married Tricia Watson on May 6, 1983 at Leadville, CO and continued to work as a mechanic until returning to Egan, SD in 1986. They moved to Rapid City in 1998. Dave married Jana Coller on August 2, 2003 at Custer, SD and he retired in 2007.

Dave is survived by his wife, Jana, Rapid City; children, Dana (Don) DeBoer, Egan, Daniel (fiancée, Melissa) Eich, Sioux Falls, Jenna (Justin) Preston, Rapid City, Sauntee (Heidi) Coller, Kadoka, Jeremy Coller, Denver; 10 grandchildren, Jarrad, Collin, Madeline, Kyler, Isaiah, Cassandra, Jerica, Jadyn, Jyntre and Jyrzee; five brothers and sisters, Betty (James) Brown, Dell Rapids, Jack (Sara) Eich, Macon, GA, Arnold (Bev) Eich, Flandreau, Ronnie (Sherri) Eich, Lake Madison, SD and Patty (Gary) Duncan, Flandreau. He was preceded in death his son, Travis and his parents.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 19, 2009 at 6:00 pm at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with burial in Frying Pan Ranch Cemetery, Kadoka.
