Darrel Alvin Bothe, 91, of Elkton, SD passed away Friday, September 9, 2022, at the VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD surrounded by his family. Darrel was born June 17, 1931, at Aurora, SD to Ervin and Anne (Nussbaum) Bothe. He attended school through the eighth grade and then started farming with his dad. Darrel helped his dad manage the roller rink and dances at the Flandreau Japanese Gardens and City Armory in the late 40's and early 50's. He was in the U.S. Army from 1955 until 1957 and after his discharge he returned to farming. Darrel married Judy Feuerhelm on October 6, 1963, in Trent, SD and they continued to farm in the Elkton area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being with family and friends, and watching deer, pheasants, and turkey out the window.

Darrel is survived by his wife, Judy; two children, Carol (David) Ramm, Brandon, SD; Gary (Ginger) Bothe, Aurora, SD; four grandchildren, Garrett, Matthew, Daniel, Sheldon; sister Betty (Charles) Tanck, Sioux Falls, SD and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Beverly Bothe and his grandparents, Martin and Cecelia Nussbaum and Fred and Hilda Bothe.

Private family services will be held with burial open to the public at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Sioux Falls.
