Dane C. Souther, 20, of Flandreau died Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Dane Christian Souther was born on June 23, 1988 in Colorado Springs, CO to David and Sharon (Dale) Souther. Dane grew up in Flandreau and continued his education in Utah where he graduated from high school and then from the Job Corp. Dane was a force of nature and enjoyed being with his family, especially his brothers who were known as the 3 Amigos and his friends. He enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos, playing video games and board games.

Dane is survived by his mother, Sharon (Cory) Scofield, Flandreau, father, David (Cindy) Souther, Ft. Hood, TX; siblings, Ashley, David (Elizabeth), Skyler, Donald, Brianna; grandparents, Kent and Joan Scofield, Flandreau, Gary and Francis Holland, Sun Lakes, AZ; great-grandmother, Lucy Bates, Bend, OR; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; special friend, Allison Wittrock; best friend, Mark Nelson and many friends.

Dane was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanley and Katharina Dale; grandfather, Donald Souther, Sr.; uncle, Donald Souther, Jr. and very good friend, Matt Springer.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 am at Skroch Funeral Chapel with burial in Union Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm at Skroch Funeral Chapel on Tuesday.
