Dale J. Olson, 71, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at his home in Egan. Dale was born on August 12, 1937 in Flandreau to Walter and Mabel (Gill) Olson. He graduated from Egan High School in 1956. Dale was in the US Army from 1959 to 1961. He married Marlys Johnson on November 25, 1961 in Pipestone, MN and he worked at the Egan Elevator. They moved to Worthington, MN in 1964 and he worked at Campbell's Soup Company and then at Armour's Packing House from 1966 until 1983. He then worked at Morrell's in Sioux Falls until retiring in 1999. They moved to Egan in 2001 where he has continued to make his home.

Dale is survived by his wife, Marlys, Egan; a son, Jeff Olson, Trent; a daughter, Jody Olson, Egan; and two grandchildren, Justin and Kayla Mears, Egan. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Don Olson and a sister, Donna Boever.

Memorial services will be Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Egan Senior Citizens Center.
