Christine B. Kroeger, 90, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Riverview Manor in Flandreau. Christine was born in Ward Township, Moody County, SD to Joseph and Marie (Haper) Anderson on November 9, 1917. She attended Ward Country School and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1935. Christine got her teaching certificate at General Beadle College and then started teaching in several Moody County country schools. She married Vernon Kroeger, June 22, 1940, at Orange City, IA. She later got her Bachelor of Science Degree at General Beadle and then taught for 14 years at Spafford Elementary School in Flandreau retiring in 1983. Vernon preceded her in death on December 9, 1995. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, WELCA, Athena Club, and enjoyed dancing, cards, traveling and her grandchildren.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Judy (Lyle) Baas, Flandreau; Joyce Jensen, Rapid City, SD and 1 son: Keith (Patti) Kroeger, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 9 grandchildren:Brian, Michael, Steven, Lori, Christopher, Kristen, Kim, Sara and Jordan; 15 great-grandchildren: Dustin, Jamie, Heather, Megan, Derek, Dayton, Dawson, Danae, Nathan, Macy, Kody, Jack, Grace, Emma, and Lilly. Christine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 2 brothers, Alden and Henry.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with burial in Union Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
