Cecelia "Sally" Scholl, 93, of Brookings, SD, formerly Bushnell, SD, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Neighborhoods at Brookview, Brookings. Cecelia Mary Margaret "Sally" was born August 5, 1928 in Bridgewater, SD, the daughter of Michael and Margaret (Miller) Hoffmann. She attended St. Martin's Catholic School in Emery, SD. Cecelia was united in marriage to Donald J. Scholl on June 12, 1951 in Emery. Cecelia worked on the farm with Don and also at the Sawnee Hotel, Ward's Cafe and the Pheasant over the years. Donald passed away on November 11, 1974 and she continued to farm and milk cows and also kept busy with gardening and her flowers.  She was a member of St. Williams Parish, Aurora, Our Lady of Good Counsel, Elkton, where she made altar cloths for Fr. Terrence Stanton and Fr. T.J. McPhillips and later St. Thomas More in Brookings.

Cecelia is survived by her children, Lois Scholl, Brookings; Lorraine (Joel) Schonewill, Volga, SD; Joseph Scholl, Bushnell, SD; one grandson Christopher Schonewill, Volga; and several nieces and nephews. Cecelia was preceded in death by her husband Don; parents, Michael and Margaret; brothers, Al and Raymond Hoffmann; sisters, Matilda (Roman) Mayrose and Loretta (Joseph) Heinricy; and niece Mary Jo Heinricy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, February 7, 2022 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Brookings with burial at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Elkton, SD. Visitation will be at St. Thomas More on Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm with a 4:00 pm Scripture Service followed by the rosary.
