Carol A. Janssen, 54, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Carol was born at St. Paul, MN to Jim and Roween (Heesch) Cameron on January 19, 1956. She lived in New Market and New Prague, MN and then moved to Elkton and graduated from Elkton High School in 1973. She was married to Marshall Janssen Jr. on December 30, 1972 at Elkton and they lived on the family farm until moving to Lead, SD in March of 1977. They returned to Elkton in 1997 where she has continued to make her home. Carol enjoyed horses, gardening, crocheting, canning, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by husband, Marshall Janssen, Elkton; 4 children, David (Bobbette) Janssen, Monroe, LA, Sue Janssen, Flandreau, Daniel (Jessica) Janssen, Sturgis, Steven Janssen, Elkton; 6 grandchildren, Jake, Colton, Samuel, Natalie, Rachel, Blake; her mother, Roween Cameron, Elkton; 4 siblings, Denise (Brian Taylor) Lange, Lake Benton, MN, Donald (Pam) Cameron, Elkton, Craig (Selma) Cameron, Burnsville, MN, Valerie (Mike) Knutson, Elkton. She is preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Elkton Community Center with burial at Elkton City Cemetery.
