Carlos Michael Bothel was born on a cold winter's day December 9, 1974, in Ellenville, N.Y. and died February 7, 2016 in Sparta, W.I. On the day of his birth, Grandma Stella looked down at him & said "yep this one's gonna be a lot of trouble". And, she was right!! Carlos joined the Army July of 1996, he served his country honorably, surviving many combat deployments and earned many awards and citations. He left us just 6 months short of his 20 year retirement.

Carlos is survived by a very large & very unconventional family: his Mom Tina Bellot, 2nd Mom Liz Perales, Step-Dad Tim Bellot, Father Charlie Santiago, Wife Jenn Bothel. Services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the William Janklow Community Center, Flandreau, SD with Mark Huse officiating and interment with date TBD in Union Cemetery, Flandreau.
