Bradley John Wiskur, age 57, of Elkton, South Dakota, gained his angel wings on September 19, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer at home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 25, 2026, at United Parish of Elkton. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon following the funeral service at Elkton Community Center. The family will be present for visitation on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM, at United Parish of Elkton.
Brad was born in Hendricks, MN, to Francis “Toots” and Beverly (Dahl) Wiskur on April 30, 1969. Brad grew up north of Elkton on his parents’ farm, where he attended and graduated from Elkton High School in 1987. He could often be found playing in dart league, shooting pool, golfing, or playing anything sports-related. After high school, he went to work at the Elkton Elevator, continued to work there after CHS took ownership, and finished his working days there. He made and continued many friendships through his duties at the elevator.
He met the love of his life, Abby, through his aunt Shirley, and they were married on August 23, 2003. In November 2007, they welcomed their son Ethan, and in March 2009, they welcomed their son Eric. Becoming a father was his greatest joy.
Brad loved everything sports (Vikings, MN Twins, North Carolina Tar Heels, basketball, NASCAR, Sprint Car racing). Brad enjoyed reffing both football and basketball. He then got into coaching his sons in football and baseball, which allowed him to coach them at U.S. Bank Stadium. He enjoyed competitive games of basketball with nieces and nephews, which led to sharing his passion for sports and the outdoors with Ethan and Eric. They could often be found hunting, fishing, golfing, or tinkering with many projects in the garage.
His wife and kids were the biggest joy of his life. He also enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and watching them grow up. He was always willing to help others in times of need. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Abby, and their sons, Ethan and Eric. His brothers, Scott and Doug (Glenda); sister, Laurie; nieces, Cassandra (Jesse), Kaitlyn (Jeremy), and Airlie; nephews, Austin (Katelyn), Cody (Amber), Preston, Dylan, Coy, and Soren. Extended family, including in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews, also survive him.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Beverly; grandparents, Frank and Evelyn Wiskur, and Melvin and Evelyn Dahl; and brother, Tony Wiskur.
