Maricopa, AZ – Betty was born February 18, 1926 to Joe and Leona Zarecky in Ward SD. They moved to Colman, SD in 1932. When Betty graduated from Colman High School in 1944 and met her future husband, Charles Elhoff. She attended LPN school for two years prior to marrying Charles on May 27, 1946. She worked at the Flandreau Hospital for two years and for the Moody Count Public Heath Dept. for 3 years. She was appointed Moody County Deputy Clerk of Courts for 5 years. Charles and Betty farmed in Colman for 43 years, before moving to Sioux Falls in 1989. There she worked as a receptionist at Central Plaines Clinic for 10 years. Since 2007 she lived near her daughter in Maricopa, Arizona. She always enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, rarely missing a game. She is survived by her husband Charles, 4 children, Charles Jr. (Linda), David (Sarah), LeAnne (Michael), and Jeffrey (Pam), 8 grand children and 4 great grandchildren.
Memorial services for Betty M. Elhoff, formerly of Sioux Falls, will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Sunny Crest United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls followed by a luncheon at the church.
Graveside services have been postponed for Saturday and will be 11:00 am on Monday at the Colman Cemetery followed by a luncheon and fellowship at the Colman Community Center.
