Betty M. Beyer, 86, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Dow Rummel Village, Sioux Falls. She was born August 10, 1923 in Clare Township, Moody County, SD to Ernest and Mabel Snuggerud Taylor. She received her education at both Chamberlin and Tidd Country Schools and graduated from Egan High School in 1942. She worked for Dr. Eiselt in Flandreau until her marriage to Arthur Beyer on February 19, 1946 at Flandreau. They farmed in Riverview Township until 1986 but continued to live on the farm. Her husband preceded her in death on July 14, 1999. Betty moved to Greenleaf Assisted Living in July 2007 until moving to Dow Rummel Village on July 1, 2008. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. Betty enjoyed gardening, birds, baking, the outdoors and mowing.

Betty is survived by three sons, Jim and his wife, Linda, Lehigh Acres, FL, Alan and his wife, Claudia, West Branch, IA, Dave and his wife, Cindy, Alexandria, SD, one daughter-in-law, Connie and her husband, Rick LaLonde, Flandreau; 15 grandchildren, Carol, Alison, Andy, Stacy, Michelle, Jason, Nathan, Ryan, Lance, Nathan, Jordan, Bethany, Katrina, Heidi and Corey; six great-grandchildren, Hanna, Will, Sam, Taya, Jaxson and Kai and a sister, Oney Johnson, Pine Brook, NJ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, son, Ron, great-granddaughter, Lauren, parents and a brother, Merle.


Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Flandreau, with burial in Clare Cemetery, rural Flandreau, SD. Visitation begins at 4:00 pm Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
