Obituary

Arnold Berg, 53, died Friday, January 7, 2011 at his home in Flandreau. He was born on January 21, 1957 at Helena, MT to Clayton and Arlene (Kellogg) Berg. He was raised in Arlington and Brookings, SD and went to cooking school in Nemo, SD. Arnold served in the US Navy and then became an over the road truck driver. He was married to Jean Bjerke on June 20, 1983 at Brookings. They moved to Flandreau in 1987 and due to ill health retired in 2004. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Paralyzed Veteran's of America, was a Jeff Gordon fan and his best friend was his dog, "Jake".

Arnold is survived by his wife, Jean; mother and step-father; Arlene (Floyd) Liebsch, Winter Garden, FL; two siblings, Kenny (Tammy) Berg, Danville, PA, Lori (Kent) Phumphrey, Greer, SC; half-sister, Jami (Robert) Finnerty, Olivia, Fl; step-brother, Art Liebsch, Omaha, NE; step-sister, Anita Sims, Southlake, TX and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death his father, Clayton and two brothers, Allen and Corey.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau with burial in the Toronto Cemetery, Toronto, SD. Visitation begins at 4:00 pm Monday with a 7:30 pm prayer service at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
