Arlen Schmuck, 50, passed away at his farm home Monday, September 28, 2015. Arlen was born April 2, 1965 in Sioux Falls, SD to Reinhold and Kathleen (Geraets) Schmuck. He received his education in Sioux Falls, graduating from Washington High School in 1983. Arlen moved to Colman, SD and farmed with his grandparents near Colman for four years. Then he started farming on his own and continued to farm until his death. Arlen loved his nieces and nephews, his cows, going to farm sales, and John Deere equipment. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Colman.

Arlen is survived by his parents, Reinhold and Kathleen, two sisters, Arlene (Paul) Christenson and Carol (David) Alpers, all of Sioux Falls, and four nieces and nephews, Nathan and Haylee Christenson, and David and Abigail Alpers. Arlen was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Saturday, October 3, 2015 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Colman. Visitation is from 5 – 7 pm Friday at Skroch Funeral Chapel with a 7:00 pm prayer service.
