Angela M. Brokate, 73, died Wednesday, February 8, 2011 at Avera Flandreau Medical Center. Angela was born on September 3, 1938 at Los Angeles, CA to Frederick and Grace (Nicassio) Schneller. She grew up in a Catholic Convent until the age of 13. She worked various jobs in Los Angeles but her most beloved was being a cocktail waitress. She married Barry Brokate in Los Angeles, CA. Angela moved to Flandreau in 2001 to be near her family. She was an extreme craft lady. She loved to crochet and knit and won many awards at the Pipestone Fair. Angela will be remembered for her cooking, baking and being an avid Catholic and enjoyed doing it all with her sister, Paula. She was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau.
Angela is survived by a daughter, Billie (Robin) Rederth, Flandreau; 9 grandchildren, Cynthia Rederth, Jeremiah (Leslie) Rederth, Michael Contresceri, Paul Martinez, Ashley (Nick) Ross, Natalya LaRoche, James (Dani) Contresceri, Angelica Contresceri and Larissa Rederth; 9 great-grandchildren, Shirleigh, Farrah, Veronica, Robbie, JR, Gracie, Zaeda, Lilyannah and Lainey and one sister, Mona Alford, Azusa, CA. She is preceded in death by her son, Barry Jr.; her parents and a sister, Paula Salerno.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 10, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau with burial at First Presbyterian Cemetery, Flandreau.
