Andrea D. Grafing, age 71 of Flandreau, SD, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Avera Flandreau Hospital in Flandreau.
Andrea Dauvella Browning was born on June 27, 1944 in Ridgeland, South Carolina, to Albert and Jenevieve (Weeks) Browning. She graduated from Tillman High School before her marriage to Christian Grafing on June 10, 1961 in Rantoul, Illinois. Andrea owned and operated a country store (The Martin Mall) in Martin, SC before her retirement. The couple moved to Flandreau, SD in 2008. She was an officer for the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a dispatcher for the Allendale Police Department, but mostly she was a loving mom and housewife who served the Lord in all aspects of her life.
Survivors include her husband, Christian "Dugan" of Flandreau; two sons, Christian "Dusty" Grafing of Flandreau and Mark (Donna) Grafing of Mesquite, TX; one brother, Albert Browning of Sumter, SC; seven grandchildren, Lindsey Kinard, Mallory Ray, Christian R. Grafing III, Jenneveve Dath, Geoffrey Grafing, Jordan Grafing and Daryan Grafing, and four great grandchildren, Jayden Morrison, Adrian Morrison, Kaidyn Grafing and Kaylin Kinard. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Meloney Sue and her sister, Mary Austin.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Prayer Service. Funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 at the Second Presbyterian Church, Flandreau. Memorials preferred to the Second Presbyterian Church.
