Alan Charles Heinssen, age 78, was born to Charlie and Lillian (Volquardson) Heinssen on September 28, 1936 in Flandreau, SD. After graduating from Colman High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in the Tank Division. After his discharge, he worked as an iron worker throughout the United States.

Alan passed away in Bryan, Texas on February 3, 2015. He is survived by his son Scott (Jackie) and daughter Julie (Chad) Kunkel, sisters, Jerene (Dwayne) Atkins and Norma (Chuck) Kringen and grandchildren, Matthew, Sean, Samantha and Josh. Alan was preceded in death by his son Mark and his parents.
