Aileen Rydell, 85, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at her home. Aileen was born on July 28, 1929 to Rudy and Helen Stromberg. She attended Lake Benton Country School and graduated from Pipestone High School. Aileen married Ronald Rydell on November 10, 1947 in Pipestone, MN. The couple moved to Pipestone in 1950 where they made their home for 28 years and raised their 7 children. In 1977 they moved to a farm north of Flandreau where she has lived ever since. Ron preceded her in death on May 18, 1984. Along with being a homemaker, Aileen worked numerous jobs, Paul's Shurfine, Royal River Casino, and Riverview Manor until her retirement in 2011. She enjoyed gardening, baking cookies, watching high school basketball tournaments, bowling, and gambling. Aileen was a kind, compassionate woman who would do anything for anyone.

She is survived by her 6 children; Dennis (Caroline) Rydell, Flandreau, Steve (Linda) Rydell, Baltic, Doreen (Doug) Hansen, Pipestone, Lee (Mary) Rydell, Flandreau, Gary (Lori) Rydell, Flandreau, Rollie (Lisa) Rydell, Flandreau, 15 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren, brother, Don Stromberg, Rapid City and several special nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ron, son, Randy, infant daughter, Sally, and her parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Flandreau, with burial in New Woodlawn Cemetery in Pipestone, MN. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
