Rosheim
February 17, 1920 – July 28, 2008
Agnes O. Rosheim, died on July 28, 2008 at her home in Sequim, WA. Agnes was born February 17, 1920 on a farm near Colton, South Dakota to Wilhelm and Olga (Austin) Carsrud. The family moved to Brookings County where Agnes received her education. She married Douglas Rosheim on August 10, 1938 in Flandreau. During World War II, Agnes spent time in California to be near her husband when he served in the Army. After the war she lived and worked in Brookings and in 1952 moved to Flandreau where the couple purchased and operated the Pantry Café. In 1972, she and Douglas returned to Brookings to work at SDSU. They retired in 1982 and returned to Flandreau. Following the death of her husband in 1991, she continued to make her home in Flandreau until 1995 when she moved to Sioux Falls. She wintered and later moved to Apache Junction, Arizona. Following the death of her friend William Wittrock in 2004, she remained in Arizona until May of 2008 when she moved to Sequim, Washington to be near her daughter, Susie. Her last days were filled with loving care from her son, daughter, son-in-law, and her special niece, Cathy (Clark) Blomberg of Lake Campbell, SD. She was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, Altar Society and the VFW Auxiliary.
Aggie is suvived by one daughter, Susanne (William) Herrick, Sequim, WA; one son, Roch, Sioux Falls; one grandson, Brian Herrick, San Francisco, three granddaughters, Andrea Ackers, Las Vegas, NV; Nicole Rosheim Haddad, Austin, TX; Molli Jo Rosheim, Sioux Falls; three step-granddaughters, Jacque Headrick, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; Kim Schmidt, Flandreau, Ashley Podhradsky, Madison; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Stewart, Grants Pass, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug; her daughter, Rita Jo Schmidt; her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:30am at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Flandreau with burial in the Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm Friday with a 7:00pm scripture service all at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau.
